  • How do I take care of my tattoo immediately afterwards? Long term?

  • My friend said his aftercare was a lot different than yours. What gives?
    Since every tattooist works differently, they should know what heals their work up the best, based upon their style of tattooing. If you have any questions, refer to your artist and tell your friends to mind their own beeswax.
  • How long before I can work out?
    Working out with an unhealed tattoo can expose your open skin to staph infection and a host of other dangerous pathogens. Plus, stinging sweat in your new tattoo can really hamper a good workout. So depending on the type of routine you are doing, you should avoid the gym until your new tattoo has completely skinned over, generally about a week. And even then, always wash the area completely after your workout until your tattoo has fully healed.
  • If I get pregnant or gain/lose weight, will my tattoo distort?
    This answer can vary greatly depending on the location and design. Graphic, symmetrical pieces can show even a little distortion, while more organic forms can weather much more and still look fine. It’s best to review your designs and your concerns with your artist.
